Jordan and Willow have one of our favorite love stories from our years as wedding photographers. They first dated over 20 years ago while living in Atlanta, but eventually went their separate ways and lost touch. Fast forward a few decades, and as they put it, they “cosmically ran into each other” while both living in Maine. When it became clear there was still a spark, they knew this wasn’t just chance but rather fate.

Together, they bought a 1920s farmhouse on the Kennebec River, which became both their home and their business: Ancestor Farms. One winter day, while skating on the farm’s pond, Jordan proposed to Willow—and he said yes!

When it came time to plan their wedding, the decision was easy. They would celebrate right there on the farm where they had built their life together. With a small guest list of close friends and family, along with homegrown flowers, they created a day that felt just like their love: free-spirited, intimate, and beautifully simple. We had the incredible honor of capturing it.

Summer Wedding at Ancestor Farms

Jordan and Willow’s wedding was the very first held at Ancestor Farms, a kind of “soft launch” to explore how elopements or microweddings might flow in the space. And what a perfect introduction it was! Late summer on the farm is something special. Sunlight pours over the gardens, and the scent of blooming flowers drifts through the warm air.

After getting ready in the farmhouse, Jordan and Willow joined their guests outside to exchange vows. Beneath an archway adorned with flowers grown right in their garden, they shared heartfelt promises. Every moment of the day felt deeply intentional. After portraits in the garden, everyone gathered to share a meal prepared by friends who also own a farm. The food itself reflected their values, with everything locally grown, thoughtfully prepared, and made with love.

Relaxed and Authentic Wedding Photography

From their engagement session to their wedding day, we felt completely in sync with Jordan and Willow and how they wanted their story documented. They chose our Love Collection, which includes up to six hours of coverage, and we worked together to create a relaxed timeline that prioritized meaningful time with their loved ones. With such an intimate guest list, it was important to them that the day felt unhurried and fully present.

Some of our favorite moments were spent wandering through the garden with them as they moved among the flowers they had cultivated themselves. It was incredibly special to witness not only their deep connection with each other, but also their relationship to the land they now call home.

We left late that evening feeling so full and grateful to have experienced a day defined by intention, intimacy, and genuine joy.

We can’t thank Jordan and Willow enough for trusting us to capture such a meaningful celebration. Every heartfelt moment and thoughtful detail (and how about Willow’s floral suit?!) has stayed with us, and we know it will for years to come. They hope to host more weddings and gatherings at Ancestor Farms in the near future, and we can’t wait to see what they create next.

Although we’re now based in Colorado, we love traveling across the country to document weddings of all kinds. Whether you’re planning an intimate microwedding like Jordan and Willow or a larger celebration, we’d be honored to preserve your story through honest and romantic imagery. Kind Words from Jordan and Willow

We had the pleasure of getting our engagement photos done by Jose & Jess back in July. Needless to say, the entire experience blew us away. Not only are they personally wonderful and incredibly talented, but also so personable, professional, and immediately attuned to what we were looking for—even when we were vague—and they totally surpassed it, delivering better than we could have imagined. We had so much fun during the shoot and were beyond pleased with the results, so much so that we hired them for our wedding without a second thought. Now that our wedding has come and gone, we’re so grateful for their consistency, attention to detail, and the gorgeous images we’ll cherish forever. Highly, highly recommend this incredible duo!
