On the other side of the coin, we have elopements, which are typically just the bride and the groom and perhaps a family member or two. The guest count for a micro wedding sits around 20 to 50 guests, putting it right between an elopement and a traditional wedding in terms of size.

Micro weddings are wonderful for couples who want a more intimate event but don’t want to lose the structure of a traditional wedding. The wedding day itinerary still includes a ceremony, sit-down dinner, and perhaps even a bit of dancing. Sunrise Amphitheater, Flagstaff Mountain

If you are looking for a venue where the views stand out, Sunrise Amphitheater is it! This small stone amphitheater looks out over Boulder and the foothills, providing the perfect backdrop for an intimate affair as well as stunning photos. For a small group, you can simply arrange the chairs in a way that still feels tight-knit and cozy. Keep in mind this is an outdoor venue, and it’s only open for the season from May through October, which means it tends to book up fast. If you’re looking to secure this venue, you’ll want to inquire well ahead of time.

The A-Lodge, Four Mile Canyon

For couples who want to keep the logistics simple by hosting the ceremony and reception in one place, the A-Lodge is a wonderful option! The venue sits up the canyon along a beautiful stream that is perfect for photos. This would be our top pick for couples who would prefer for everyone to arrive and settle in for the night, really creating that intimate experience from start to finish.

The Kitchen Upstairs, Pearl Street

For those looking for a more food-focused “in-town” vibe vs mountain backdrops, The Kitchen Upstairs is a great fit. The venue features a private room above the bistro that holds around fifty people. Depending on how big or small you want your guest list to be, the space is able to flex to fit your needs. The aesthetic is warm and dimly lit in the best way, creating the perfect ambiance for the night. The menu is also fabulous, with food sourced close by, so you know it’s local and fresh. This is perfect for couples looking to enjoy a memorable meal and great conversation with friends around the dinner table.
